Dr. Bueno is a Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, as well as Associate Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research focuses on molecular analysis of mesothelioma and lung cancer, with a goal of improving diagnostics and genetic prediction of the diseases. Dr. Bueno has done extensive research investigating peritoneal mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma at the cellular level in an effort to identify more effective treatment methods.
Dr. Bueno studied at Harvard University for undergraduate school, as well as his medical degree. He completed a fellowship in surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as a residency in thoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Bueno is board certified in surgery, surgical critical care, thoracic surgery, and has authored or co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles.
