Dr. Christian Peyre is a board certified thoracic surgeon specializing in the treatment of mesothelioma, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
Dr. Peyre joined the University of Rochester Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Surgery (division of thoracic and foregut surgery) after earning his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He completed a residency in surgery and a research fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine before going on to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he completed his thoracic surgery training.
In addition to receiving prestigious awards for his research and scholarship, Dr. Peyre has authored or co-authored over twenty peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, including in The American Journal of Surgery and Surgery. He is a frequent presenter on thoracic and foregut surgery topics across the country. Dr. Peyre presented some of his findings at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Peyre is associated with several hospitals in the Rochester, New York area including Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center, The Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester, and Unity Hospital.
