Dr. Hoang is a surgeon-scientist sub-specialized in thoracic surgical oncology. He leads the section of Molecular Therapeutics in the Thoracic Surgery Branch at NCI. This group conducts translational research to discover and develop novel therapies that span RNA-based to first-in-class molecules tailored for pleural mesothelioma. His clinical expertise includes all the major aspects of thoracic surgery including procedures for lung cancer, other primary lung tumors, mesothelioma, thymic malignancies, esophageal cancer, pulmonary metastases, etc. He utilizes the latest techniques in endoscopic and minimally-invasive (VATS and robotic) thoracic surgery.
