Cancer Treatments
Each patient is assigned to a nurse navigator to ensure that treatment runs smoothly. JFK Comprehensive Cancer Institute organizes a Cancer Care Team, which is composed of nurses, dietitians, physical therapists, board certified therapists, and psycho-social support staff to manage the mind-body side of cancer treatment. Lung cancer and mesothelioma patients receive targeted therapies to eradicate cancer. Advanced surgical techniques, such as the CyberKnife, da Vinci Surgical System, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and minimally invasive surgery are performed.
Radiation therapy is administered through the External Beam Radiation Therapy Program. JFK Comprehensive Cancer Institute employs radiation instruments such as IMRT, VMAT/RapidArc, IGRT, and RPM technologies to accompany treatment programs. Medical oncology and chemotherapy, palliative care, state-of-the-art diagnostics and imaging services, hormone therapy and biological therapy are additional options for cancer treatment at the JFK Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
