Thoracic surgeon Loki Skylizard serves as Chief of Thoracic Surgery, Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Thoracic Surgery, and Assistant Program Director of the General Surgery Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. Dr. Skylizard is an expert in a variety of surgical approaches including advanced endoscopy and Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), used to treat mesothelioma and lung cancer. He leads Monmouth Medical Center’s Thoracic Surgical Oncology Program.
Dr. Skylizard earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed a two year residency in thoracic surgery and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He was the first physician to complete a 12-month Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Advanced Robotics Thoracic Surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
