A specialist in mesothelioma treatment, Dr. Landreneau is Vice Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, as well as a Professor of Surgery. Dr. Landreneau has expertise in treating patients diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and mesothelioma. He focuses his surgical research on investigating minimally invasive thoracic surgery, lung volume reduction surgery, and minimally invasive lung cancer surgery.
Dr. Landreneau received a bachelors of science and a medical degree from Louisiana State University. He completed a residency in general surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital, as well as a fellowship in thoracic surgery at the University of Michigan. He is board certified in thoracic surgery and cardiovascular surgery.
Dr. Landreneau has authored or co-authored more than 350 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Surgical Association, the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
